Benedict Cumberbatch may not be done Hoovering up all of the choice roles in Hollywood just yet. According to Deadline, Sherlock star is reportedly eyeing a real-life part that has Oscar written all over it, English mathematician Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. Leonardo DiCaprio once voiced interest in playing the genius who was tormented by the British government over his homosexuality, but the project has been in limbo since 2011. Now, Mortem Tyldum is attached to direct.

Benedict Cumberbatch who is currently playing Julian Assange in Wikileaks film The Fifth Estate looks set to bag another high profile real-life character.
The Sherlock actor is in talks to play Bletchley Park codebreaker and mathematician Alan Turing according to a report in Deadline.
Graham Moore's screenplay The Imitation Game has been commissioned by Black Bear Pictures with Headhunters' Morten Tyldum signed up to direct.
Turing is widely hailed as responsible for cracking the Enigma Code which greatly helped British naval efforts during the Second World War. Also known for what is regarded as the first blue print for modern computing, Turing's heroic wartime activities were not revealed to his family or the world until after his death.

Television’s Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has gotten into a bad-guy groove, playing Khan in the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness and Smaug in the next Hobbit film. But he certainly doesn’t think his lead gig as notorious WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in The Man Who Sold the World is part of this bent.

Benedict Cumberbatch - Assange savages film about WikiLeaks (THE AGE)
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says a film about his whistle-blowing website is propaganda designed to fan the flames of a war against Iran.
The Fifth Estate, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, is due to be released in November.
Assange on Wednesday night said WikiLeaks had managed to get hold of a copy of the script of the DreamWorks movie.
And he doesn't like what he's read.
"It is a mass propaganda attack against WikiLeaks the organisation," the 41-year-old Australian told students in Oxford via a video-link from the Ecuadorean embassy in London.

"But it is not just an attack against us – it is an attack against Iran.
"It fans the flames to start a war with Iran."

The year of Benny Batch continues! DreamWorks announced today that principal photography has commenced on its heretofore untitled feature film about the creation of the controversial website WikiLeaks and its co-founder and international fugitive Julian Assange. Now titled The Fifth Estate, the film traces the meteoric rise of the site through the eyes of Assange colleague Daniel Domscheit-Berg. He’s played by Inglourious Basterds‘ Daniel Brühl, who’s pictured above with Benedict Cumberbatch as Assange in the first official image from the film. Bleached white hair is eerily becoming on Mr. Cumberbatch, is it not?
Director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Kinsey, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) and screenwriter Josh Singer (Fox’s Fringe, NBC’s The West Wing) have based the screenplay in part on Domscheit-Berg’s book Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange and the World’s Most Dangerous Website, as well as WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy by British journalists David Leigh and Luke Harding.
