Downton Abbey, Sherlock and Skyfall nominated for 2013 Producers Guild awards (TELEGRAPH)

Downton Abbey’s producers, including creator Julian Fellowes, are up for the Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama award from the Producers Guild of America. The other shows in the category include popular shows Mad Men, Homeland and Game of Thrones.

In the motion picture category, long-standing Bond producer siblings Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are nominated for Skyfall, alongside Life of Pi, Argo and Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes last year.

Writers Mark Gatkiss and Steven Moffat, also responsible for episodes of Doctor Who, are nominated for their joint production of Sherlock, the crime drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch, in the long-form television category.
