Ripper Street Will Return News Gruesome hit drama is commissioned for a second series. Posted 29th January 2013, 3:51pm in TV (DIY)



The BBC have confirmed that period police drama Ripper Street will return for a second series next year.

The series, set in the Whitechapel area of Victorian London, has proved to be a hit with viewers,regularly attracting audiences of 7.1 million on average every Sunday night.

Starring Matthew Macfadyen (Pride and Prejudice), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones) and Adam Rothenberg (Person of Interest) the series is made by Tiger Aspect Productions and Lookout Point in association with BBC America.

Controller or BBC Drama Commissioning Ben Stephenson said, “quality and ambition run through Ripper Street, from Richard Warlow’s original scripts, the incredible cast and the captivating direction. All combine to create a period series with a modern and gripping edge that will return for a second series in 2014.”
